Hello friends! This post is going to be short & sweet 🙂 It is a rare occasion when I get to test a pattern out for the hubs! This is actually his debut on my blog, although I have tested for him before. One of my go-to PDF pattern designers Peekaboo Pattern Shop just released a new pattern for the men – the Rocky Mountain Raglan. This is a wardrobe staple and I’ve already made a couple for Jason! And he will definitely be getting more 🙂 I made the first one in athletic fabric and he loves it for the gym. He likes that I can make it long enough (he is 6’2″) so that his crack isn’t hanging out while he’s doing squats and such. Haha! (you’re welcome, gym-goers) I just got in some Nike Dri-Fit fabric from The Fabric Fairy and I can’t wait to sew up a couple more!
It comes in sizes XS-XXXL (Chest 30″-56″) and has options for short, 3/4, or Long Sleeves. I tested V1 & V2 of this pattern, but there was a 3rd round of testing done to get the fit just right! Those men can be tough to sew for sometimes! I really only got good photos of V2, so that’s what I’m sharing here.
I like the comfortable fit, and of course how quickly a raglan sleeve shirt sews up. For body, I used fabric that I have had in my stash for way too long. I want to say the body is just a cotton jersey. I could be wrong, but sorry – I don’t have a link for that one! The sleeves are a charcoal cotton lycra from Raspberry Creek Fabrics.
The Rocky Mountain Raglan will be on sale for 15% through tomorrow, May 5, 2016. Be sure to grab it and surprise hubby by sewing something for him! (I’m usually sewing for the kids!) You can also check out the amazing fabric selection in the Peekaboo Fabric Shop, and don’t forget that each purchase earns you reward points that you can redeem for discounts on future purchases! 🙂
