5 out of 4 Resolution Bra & Tank Pattern Test by Made by Melli

Hello lovelies! I’m back today with another fabulous activewear pattern – the amazing Resolution Bra & Tank from 5 out of 4 Patterns! If you’ve never used a pattern from 5 out of 4, you are missing out! Jessica has created a line of versatile patterns for an active lifestyle, and bonus – a lot of her patterns are nursing friendly or include nursing mods! I am not nursing anymore, but when I was, I had the hardest time finding cute, functional nursing tops that were not $50+. I’m sorry, but I will not spend $50 on a shirt!

In addition to having awesome patterns, her instructions are very clear and easy to follow, and help is always available in the 5 out of 4 Facebook Group! I sewed up a couple of her patterns for my Strong is the New Skinny post (including my favorite workout top EVER, the Agility Tank) and so far, I have loved them all.

The Resolution Bra & Tank pattern includes an optional racerback bra & a loose fit racerback tank.

Here are all of the details:

Sizes Women’s XXS-3XL

Regular or Lower neckline options

Contrast Tank

Solid Tank

Straight, Curved, or Banded Hem

I sewed up 2 versions, both contrast tanks with banded hems, and the optional racerback bra. The bra has different cut lines based on your cup size, which is amazing for us *blessed* ladies. Most store bought bras are too low cut on me and show off a little too much cleavage! With the right fabric, this bra would be supportive enough to wear on it’s own. Sadly for me, I didn’t have any of the right kind of fabric on hand and it’s not really available locally. I layered a storebought sports bra under my Resolution bras to add support, but still have the cute coordinating look! I fully intend on getting a hold of some good power mesh and making myself a functional (and modest) sports bra!

This was an earlier version of the pattern and some updates were made after this. The grey fabric pictured here is from Joann’s and can be found HERE. The blue is a Tricot Satin Matte Nylon Spandex from Girl Charlee, but this color is no longer on their website. A crimson red and some other colors are still available though!

I love the loose flattering fit of the tank, and the look of the contrasting side & back! Imagine all of the fun fabric combinations you could put together! I also love how the racerback portion of the bra is wider than the tank, so you can add a little contrast in the back too!

The charcoal fabric for this version can be found HERE and the light blue is something I dug out of my stash and honestly can’t remember where it’s from! (the life of a fabric hoarder)

I know almost all of us have some kind of resolution for 2016 that involves being more active. I definitely do! I don’t think it gets much better than being able to sew up my own workout tank and bra that fits me perfectly, in colors that I love, without paying an arm & a leg!

Pick up the Resolution Bra & Tank pattern during the release sale for only $7.95! Sale ends 1/26/16.
