Today is the last day to grab the Made for Mermaids Rowan Raglan PDF sewing pattern on sale for only $7! Rowan released earlier this week and is an amazing UNISEX pattern that is packed full of amazing options! I had the chance to test some fabric strike offs from Vintage Lace Prints and couldn’t resist sewing up another Rowan. When I made my tester versions of Rowan, I made short sleeve t-shirts for the boys, and a 3/4 sleeve ruffle dress with flutters for Maci! It is so fun having coordinated shirts for all 3 kids, especially from the same pattern! It was not as fun trying to get a good picture of all 3 together, but that’s a whole other story. This picture below is the only good shot I got of all 3! This photo is worth a million words though – it really shows of JJ’s crazy/silly personality, and displays how much Maci & Madden adore their little brother! JJ wasn’t interested in standing still for pictures.. maybe next time?
Here’s a quick rundown on Rowan:
- Sizes 1/2 through 14
- Short, 3/4, and Long Sleeves
- Optional Flutter add-on
- Shirt, Banded Tunic, Ruffle Tunic, or Ruffle Dress length
- Hemmed Hood, Lined Hood, or Neckband
- Includes 2 animal ears – rounded & pointy
- Includes 5 SVG & PNG animal faces for Heat transfer vinyl
For the Vintage Lace strike offs, I knew for sure I wanted to sew another Rowan. I hadn’t tried all of the options yet! Since the print is Christmas themed, I obviously wanted it to be good for colder weather, so I decided on the banded tunic, long sleeves, and a hood! I adore how it turned out, and Maci loves it too! She kept asking “can I put the hood up now!?”. I paired the Vintage Lace print with solid “Dark Red” cotton lycra from Purpleseamstress Fabric. I sewed up a Knit Headband in the same fabrics to coordinate and it really completes the look.
Let me just talk about the quality of this Vintage Lace fabric for a minute. It is seriously to-die-for. It is so thick and soft, and has amazing stretch and recovery. The print is high-quality, and I like that it still looks good even when the fabric is stretched out (like across Maci’s bum, lol). It feels so luxurious and high-end, and was easy to work with. This was my first time using Vintage Lace fabric and I am hooked!
This gorgeous fabric, along with several other holiday prints, will be available for pre-order next week! Make sure to join the Vintage Lace Facebook Group so you can see other strike-off tester creations and get notified when this fabric is available. You really don’t want to miss this! This fabric would make the most adorable Christmas Eve pajamas!
Since we’re in Summer but the fabric is winter-themed, I had a little fun in photoshop adding some snow! Maci got a pretty good kick out of it and basically thought I was magic! So I call that a win 🙂
