Hey friends! Today is an extra fun release day because I have not one, but two patterns to share with you. And I am sharing patterns from a new-to-me designer that you are going to love (or most likely already love!). Anne is the designer behind Sofilantjes, a PDF pattern shop based in the Netherlands. Her patterns are unique and have a fun European flair to them! Sofilantjes has been around the PDF world for a long time, but for whatever reason, this was my first time sewing with one of her patterns. It most definitely will not be the last!

First up is the Litore Tunic & dress. I adore every little thing about this dress! The fitted bodice, the modest neckline, the criss-crossed strappy back (duh!), and all of the skirt options! The twirl of the circle skirt option is amazing, and did I mention that there are pockets? I also learned today that the Litore bodice/skirt can be mixed & matched with the Solis bodice/skirt, so a mashup will definitely be happening!

For Maci’s dress, I did a size 7 high-low circle skirt in dress length with pockets. I used a fun hummingbird print cotton/lycra that I got from Girl Charlee years ago! Sadly, it’s not on their site anymore. The fit of this dress is gorgeous! Maci is actually a few inches shorter than what the size chart indicates for size 7, but I like the extra length. There are instructions for lengthening/shortening pattern pieces if needed. I could tell you how much I love this dress a million times, but I’ll just let the pictures speak!

Gotta love that twirl!

Let’s move on to the Aura Bolero pattern, shall we? I have been searching for the perfect bolero pattern for quite a while now. Once fall hits and the weather here starts cooling down, I’m left searching for solutions to help extend the life of our summer wardrobes! This bolero is the answer! I adore the design – the seaming in the front, the single button at the top, and mostly I love the way the front bodice sits open without hanging off her body. It won’t completely cover up the bodice of the dress underneath, which I think is key 🙂 A lot of boleros I’ve seen have rounded front bodices to try to achieve the same idea, but I strongly prefer the squared corners of this bodice.

I just think it is such a sweet pattern, and obviously perfect for adding a little more coverage and warmth to those sleeveless and strappy summer dresses we love so much! The fit is spot on, and the instructions are so clear! This is guaranteed to be a pattern that I will use over and over again. Again, I’ll let the pictures do a little more talking!

I truly just love this dress/bolero combination and so does my sassy child! For Maci’s bolero, I did a size 7 with short sleeves and a gathered sleeve head. I used this amazing black & white striped cotton lycra from Raspberry Creek Fabrics. I’m a fan of pattern mixing, so I think this black/white stripe bolero will be pretty versatile and go with several other pieces in her wardrobe.

Did you know that Maci’s birthday was a few weeks ago? My baby turned 5! And since we haven’t gotten out to do official birthday photos yet (oops!) we are going to call these her 5 year birthday photos. I am really happy with how they turned out! We went to the gorgeous Vivian Park up the Provo Canyon, and it made for a really lovely backdrop for these photos. I have to admit that it’s really exciting to be at a point with my photography that I feel comfortable and happy doing my own photos of my kids! It really makes my DIY heart happy.

Of course, I can’t forget about the release sale! These patterns will be on sale on the Sofilantjes website for 2 days (June 30-July 1 Central European Time). The Litore Tunic & Dress will be on sale for €5.50 (about $6.08 USD) and the Aura Bolero will be on sale for € 4.50 (about $4.97 USD). Also, if you don’t already have the Solis Tunic & Dress, you might as well grab that too so you can have some fun mixing & matching those patterns!

You can grab these patterns just in time to sew up something fun for 4th of July weekend! <3

Happy sewing!
