Hello! I’m excited to be a part of the Favorite Things blog tour, hosted by Sewing by Ti. When it comes to sewing, I have A LOT of favorite things! It was hard to narrow down, but I managed to cram many favorites into 1 outfit! 🙂
Of course, the first “favorite” that came to mind was.. fabric! I am a self-diagnosed fabric hoarder, and I definitely have a few types that I reach for over and over. I love making tops for myself with Rayon Spandex knit. It’s comfortable, soft, and has beautiful drape! It’s perfect for really flowy or swingy tops, like this Love Notions Laundry Day Tee.
Next up is the scrumptious Double Brushed Poly Spandex, a.k.a. DBP. This fabric is what dreams are made of. It’s incredibly soft, has great stretch and recovery, and you can pretty easily find it in tons of amazing prints! There is a very popular clothing company that makes famously soft leggings out of this material, I bet you can guess who I’m referring to 😉
Not only do I love the feel of DBP, but it comes in tons of amazing prints – including my FAVORITE – florals! I’m a sucker for florals and if you’ve known me a while, you probably could have figured that out pretty quickly!
And my last favorite for today.. FREE patterns! I mean, who doesn’t like free things? There are many PDF pattern designers that offer a free pattern (or several) to give you a little taste of what they have to offer. Some of my very favorite and most used patterns are freebies!
The 2 patterns I used for this look are a go-to for me. As a mom of 3 – chasing kids, playing taxi driver, and managing a household – I feel that it’s very important to wear comfortable clothes! Leggings and a flowy tunics are where it’s at for me. I can feel comfortable, stylish, and free to move around as I need to!
