Boy, has life been crazy lately! I feel like I’ve been going 100 mph, and it has taken a toll on my blogging! I have so much catching up to do, but I’ll get to that another time! Today, I am reviewing the fabulous Sun Kissed Tee PDF sewing pattern from Peekaboo Pattern Shop (PAB). I have been sewing with PAB patterns since I ventured into the PDF world, and they never, ever disappoint. One of my very first pattern tests back in the day was a PAB pattern – the Rosalie Ruffle Tee.
My sewing and photography skills have improved greatly since then. At least I think so 🙂 Anywho, back to the pattern at hand! Here’s the nitty gritty on the Sun Kissed Tee pattern:

One thing I can always count on with a Peekaboo pattern, is that it is going to be well drafted. While you can’t print with layers, the patterns are digitally drawn and color coded for easy assembling and cutting. There is a diagram printed on the pattern pieces that show how each piece goes together. This pattern was easy and quick to assemble, the pieces went together flawlessly, and I was on my way to cutting fabric and sewing without breaking a sweat!
Based on the measurement chart included in the PDF, I chose to make an XXL and grade out a little at the waist. As I have mentioned before, I am far from an “hourglass” shape – my waist measurement usually falls one or two sizes above my bust/hip measurements. In ready-to-wear (RTW) clothing and in most patterns, I am an XL, so it was a little hard to embrace the XXL. While I wanted to cut the XL for vanity’s sake, I knew better and went with the size my measurements indicated. It was definitely the right choice. I ended up with a shirt that fits well and will definitely get worn!
I love the way this turned out! It is slightly fitted at the bust, and then has a little more ease at the waist and hip. It is very flattering and floats away from my least appealing feature (my belly!) The sleeves are also nice and roomy without being overly huge, and it’s a very comfortable shirt to wear! I am slightly below average height (5’4″), but I decided not to shorten the pattern. I love the length and wouldn’t change anything about the fit. Not bad for my first time making this pattern!
I adore this Ice Green Quatrefoil jersey I used for my Sun Kissed Tee. It is a nice springy color and I’m a sucker for that geometric pattern! While I chose to do the basic tee with standard hem, this pattern also comes with a cute Ruched Side option. It’s a fun detail to add to an otherwise basic shirt 🙂 If you are pregnant, there is a handy Maternity Add-On available for this top as well. Talk about super quick & cute maternity shirt!
In my opinion, the only downside is the lack of variations included with this top. I would have liked to see a tunic length option and other sleeve length options. Overall, it is a solid pattern that is drafted well, fits well, and goes together quickly and easily! And in case you wanted to see this on me from my worst possible angle, here you go….
Something I want to mention about PAB patterns in general is that the instructions and photos are always very clear, straightforward and to the point. There are additional notes or tips added in when necessary, and I never have a problem trying to understand the process described. Something else worth mentioning is that for every purchase you make at Peekaboo Pattern Shop, you earn reward points that can be redeemed for discounts on future purchases. And there are so SO many amazing patterns to choose from. On top of all that, there are also bundle discounts available. If you’ve never sewn with a PAB pattern, take this opportunity to grab a pattern or two (or ten) and give them a try!
